Our November speaker Chris Konstan, his wife Rona, and a hardy bunch of PALZ folk turned out despite the sudden overnight snow. Chris’ talk was entitled “A Central European family history from the late 1700s to Shropshire in 2024.” The talk covered the amazing story of one family’s history from Switzerland in the 1700s, through the Prussian/Russian wars of the mid 1800s, the First and Second World Wars, Communism and eventually ending in Shropshire in 2024. Chris explained how politics and alliances changed Central Europe over 200 years and how everyone, today, continues to be affected. It was a fascinating journey round Europe and was thoroughly enjoyed by all who braved the horrible weather conditions.
