For our first speaker meeting of 2025, a large number turned out to listen to Susan Ord talk about Graphology, the Art or Science of Handwriting.

Susan used audience participation to illustrate the choices individuals make when asked to write something on a blank piece of paper, including positioning on the page, size of text, choice of landscape or portrait.

Using 2 contrasting examples of handwriting, Susan proved that it is not possible to determine gender, age, right/left handedness from handwriting. However, we also learnt that joined up or disconnected handwriting can indicate certain character traits.

It was a very speedy, but fascinating introduction to graphology.
