On Tuesday 19th November, Brian Legg, from Hertfordshire, gave a hugely informative talk based on the Heartwood arboretum, an area of land in Hertfordshire which has been planted with native species of trees. This has resulted in a vast increase in the biodiversity of flora and fauna and is a good example of what can be done.
Brian outlined some of the many uses of trees including medicinal and nutritional. There was such a lot to be learnt in a warm and social atmosphere, enhanced by the plentiful coffee and cake!
