Liz Holdsworth, Chair of PALZ UK is delighted with the support the charity has received from Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE). The PALZ UK charity specifically focuses on the needs of people who have held challenging and demanding jobs and who are now living with Alzheimer’s (or dementia from other causes); within a social environment that relates to their previous working environment of peer support and mental challenge.

Liz Holdsworth, Chair of PALZ UK said: “We are delighted that two meetings of the PALZ UK Shropshire Group have been supported by local solicitors who are members of SFE. It is wonderful that they appreciate what we are doing to help people. PALZ UK meetings aim to increase self-respect and confidence as well as providing mental stimulation, and we have received some wonderful feedback from attendees confirming how valuable the meetings are. The next meeting is a talk by former judge Robin Onions titled A life in the Criminal World which takes place on 15th March 2022. A member of SFE will give a brief introduction to say what their organisation is all about. Information about our charity is available at www.palz.org.uk”.

“Solicitors for the Elderly, Shropshire Region are delighted to be able to sponsor the upcoming PALZ UK meeting. Regional Director, Carina Kervin has seen first-hand how valuable PALZ UK is to those in our local community. Fully accredited SFE members are specifically trained to provide legal services and support to vulnerable people including those with Alzheimer’s or dementia from other sources. SFE members will provide independent, confidential advice, which is in the best interests of older or vulnerable clients, respecting their dignity and understanding the need for a holistic approach to problem solving – a list of members can be found at https://sfe.legal/find-a-lawyer/ “
