On the morning of our latest meeting on Tuesday, the 15th of March 2022 we had a call from our speaker to say that he had tested positive for Covid, so we had no speaker!
We decided to implement an idea which we had planned to put into operation later in the year,  to move people around so that everyone could get to know others with whom they did not normally sit.
Halfway through this session we were extremely fortunate to have an excellent question and answer session run by Nicola Hawes, who is secretary of the local PALZ Shropshire group, a fully accredited member of SFE (Solicitors for the Elderly) and  an associate at Wace Morgan solicitors in Shrewsbury, where she specialises in issues affecting older and vulnerable adults, including funding of long-term care and powers of attorney.
This proved very popular and valuable. Huge thanks to Nicola for stepping into the breach with no notice and making the morning informative and  stimulating.
Thanks too, to the participants who entered fully into the spirit of socialising and shared their fascinating life stories.
